Happy New Year, and welcome back to my blog! It’s hard to believe an entire year has passed since I wrote a blog post. Last year was somewhat crazy, but I’m excited to incorporate things I learned about myself into new content like how I styled an oversized sweatshirt for this post.
Part of the reason I haven’t been writing is that I’m struggling with coming to terms with our new normal. I’ve been working from home for the past two years. I’m also hesitant to be social. So I rarely have a reason to wear anything besides my Carter Wear.
I let a whole year of blogging get away from me, so this year I want to be more intentional about investing in my career as a content creator moving forward.
If you have been following my blog, I’ve always been the type of guy that loves dressing up. The only downside of dressing up is that the clothes aren’t comfortable. Rocking a suit to work around the house feels a little silly.
Fashion that’s stood out to me lately is pandemic-proof. What I mean by that is I’ve been gravitating towards pieces that are relaxed but still dressy. No one has been doing this better than Jerry Lorenzo at Fear of God.
Jerry has been knocking it out of the park. The pieces have this nostalgic Americana feel, but the collections are cooler than anything our parents probably wore. Everything from the oversized silhouettes to the neutral color palette is just effortlessly chic. Effortlessly chic is how I want to define my style in my 30s.
I stumbled on this ASOS 4505 unisex oversized sweatshirt with a stacked logo on sale for $15. It immediately reminded me of FOG’s turtlenecks. So I put this look together inspired by FOG’s latest collections. I paired this sweatshirt with Bershka wide-fit pleated smart pants in black and classic Vans. I completed the look with my Prada sunglasses and Bershka overcoat with belt in brown.
