For the most part, I have pretty clear skin. My main skin concern is blackheads. My face breaks out sometimes. When I do, I get a little cluster of blackheads. Even if I don’t pick at them, they always leave a scar. I’ve been testing out new skincare products to help treat and prevent blackheads. I recently received some samples from Skyn ICELAND. For the past week, I’ve been using their Nordic Skin Peel and the ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion as a blackhead treatment. You can read my review of both products below.
Exfoliating is the most crucial step in my skincare routine. Dirt and oil clog our pores, causing blackheads. Exfoliating 2-3 times a week helps remove dead skin cells and unclog pores. It also fades dark spots and promotes glowing skin. Most people are familiar with physical exfoliators such as apricot scrubs. But, they’re not an effective blackhead treatment. I prefer liquid exfoliators. They sit on the skin longer, which makes them more efficient. The product is able to penetrate our pores and breakdown that dirt and oil.
Nordic Skin Peel
You apply most exfoliators with a cotton ball. And I always end up wasting product by putting too much on the cotton ball. I like that the Nordic Skin Peel comes as a container of pads, which makes it easy to apply. As I mentioned before, you should exfoliate about 2-3 times a week. But, the Nordic Skin Peel is gentle enough if you prefer to use it every day. I found this product to be effective in helping prevent blackheads and keeping my skin clear. Bottom line, there are cheaper and more effective alternatives out there. But, this might be the perfect exfoliator if others have been too harsh on your skin.
the ANTIDOTE Cooling Daily Lotion
It can be challenging to find the perfect moisturizer. This one comes pretty close to being perfect. For one, it comes with a pump that dispenses the ideal amount of product. One pump was usually enough to moisturize my entire face even though the formula is lightweight. It absorbs into the skin quickly and creates a matte finish. When dealing with blackheads, it’s important to find a moisturizer makes your skin oily. It contains mint, which produces this invigorating, cooling sensation. I would recommend this product especially if you struggle with oily to combination skin. My only con is that I wish the texture was a little thicker (but that’s personal preference).
