I don’t know what it is, but I’m constantly carrying around a million things from notebooks to water bottles. Usually I throw everything in my backpack, which I’ve been carrying since high school. I’ve been past due for a new bag, but I couldn’t seem to find the right one.
Luxury backpacks are really popular right now, but to be honest I’m not a big fan of them. I’m not very tall or super muscular, but the straps always seem to be too small for my arms. Then when I adjust the straps, the backpack hangs past my butt, which makes it bounce on my back when I’m walking. I’ve also tried totes, but I had trouble keeping the straps on my shoulders especially when I wore coats or jackets.
Ever since Stuart Vevers became Coach’s creative director, the brand has become a lot cooler than I remember as a kid. When Coach reached out about trying a bag from their Spring 2017 collection, I took this as the perfect opportunity to upgrade to a soft briefcase. I’m far from a businessman, but Coach’s Manhattan Brief features a relaxed silhouette that’s way less formal than the average briefcase making it perfect for any lifestyle. It’s also made from a super soft sport calf that’s been burnished for a worn-in look, which is another reason this bag is cooler than most briefcases. The Manhattan Brief features soft handles, but my favorite part is the detachable strap which allows you to wear it on your shoulders or cross body. It also features an inside laptop sleeve so now I can carry my computer, books, etc. without looking like I’m still in school. Win-win!
