How to Transition Light Denim to Fall

It’s finally beginning to feel like Fall in the Bluegrass and I couldn’t be happier! Me and Summer weather just don’t get along. For one, we’re limited to wearing as little clothing as possible and that makes it so much harder to be creative with outfits. On top of that, you’re constantly sweaty, which kills your motivation to dress well. I don’t know if it’s just me, but the Summer weather seemed to last a little longer than usual. I can’t believe that it’s been over 90 degrees all through September! I’ve been so salty, because I bought a suede biker jacket from ASOS and I obviously haven’t been able to wear it, because it’s been so freaking hot and muggy. Now that the temperature’s beginning to cool off, I’m finally bringing out some of my outerwear like this bomber from Gap

One of the things that I love about fashion is that there’s really no right or wrong way to dress. People love to throw out different fashion rules, but I say that you should ignore them and make up your own rules. Pharrel is a perfect example of someone that breaks the rules and does it well (and doing well is the key). Darker color palettes are typically designated for Fall, but this year I’m easing into my cool weather gear by incorporating some Summer staples like these distressed, slim-fit jeans from Forever21.
