It’s crazy to see how big of an influence Kanye West has had on street style. You can’t scroll through the Gram without seeing hundreds of guys dipped in longline tees, bomber jackets, and of course, Yeezy Boosts. I’ve got nothing against the phenomenon (in fact I just purchased the all-white ultra boost), but it does get a little boring.
Lately, I’ve been inspired by the laid-back style of Parisian men. @lesfreresjoachim was one of the first blogs I ever followed. In the beginning, the brothers were all about smart tailoring, but over time their style has gotten so much more relaxed and cool. I love dressing up as much as the next guy, but sometimes it’s just so uncomfortable.
We shouldn’t have to sacrifice style for comfort or vice versa, which is why we should rethink joggers. I was totally against sweatpants until they started getting the luxury treatment. Because of tailored silhouettes from designers like @johnelliottco, sweatpants no longer have to be restricted to the weekends.
If the fit is right, sweats and joggers can easily take the place of jeans and pants. For example, instead of wearing skinny jeans, throw on a pair of tailored sweatpants. You’ll be amazed at how stylish you still look and especially how comfortable you feel.
